岩いわの向むこうからイザナミが声こえをあげました。「そんな仕打しうちをするならば、あなたの国くにの人ひとを一日いちにち千人せんにんずつ死しなせましょう」と言いいました。「それならば私わたしは一日いちにちに千五百せんごひゃくの命いのちが生うまれるようにしましょう」とイザナギは答こたえました。こうして二人ふたりの神かみは永遠えいえんに別わかれ、生せいと死しの世界せかいは分わかれることになりました。
